That is why the resocialization of prisoners is the goal of our prison system. Further education – in particular through the use of a prison library – is an essential means of resocialization and is enshrined in Section 67 of the Prison Act. Every prison must therefore set up an appropriately equipped library that is available to all prisoners. Unfortunately, the reality is quite different: There is often a lack of financial resources to operate adequately equipped prison libraries.
With your support, we would like to change this situation. With this project, we are helping five prison libraries to receive the appropriate equipment to give every prisoner the level of education and therefore the opportunities that every individual in our society deserves.”
