That was a really exciting visit.
Together with my students from the copyright law course, I visited Manz Verlag in Vienna. Managing Director Dr. Pichler and his staff gave us an introduction to the changes in copyright law that await publishers in the age of AI. His employees gave us a detailed and exciting explanation of how publishing contracts and internal employee rules can be used to organize the proper handling of AI. We were also introduced to the Genius AI system and the new AI Compliance course. The students from the University of Vienna and I were impressed by the open atmosphere and the dialog.
