New jobs at ITM

At the Institute for Information, Telecommunications and Media Law, Civil Law Department, (Prof. Dr. Thomas Hoeren) in the Faculty of Law at the WWU, two positions are available as of 01.02.2023 as a

Research Assistant

(E 13 TV-L)

in externally funded projects. This is a part-time position (50%) in the third-party funded project “Forschungsstelle Recht im Deutschen Forschungsnetz (DFN)”, which is limited until December 31, 2023, as well as a part-time position (50%) in the third-party funded project FAIR Data Spaces, which is limited until May 16, 2024.

 

Requirements for the position in the externally funded project “Research Unit Law in the German Research Network”.

Your tasks:

Scientific research on legal issues in the use of current and future communication and information technologies – especially copyright and data protection research. Regular publications in the DFN-Infobrief-Recht. Publication of legal podcasts. Organizing and contributing to lecture events.

Our expectations:

First state examination in law, preferably with distinction.
Ability to work in a team and organizational skills
In-depth knowledge of copyright and media law (proven by submission of certificates, qualification diplomas, continuing education certificates, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of data protection law, especially in dealing with the DSGVO (proven by submission of testimonials, qualification certificates, continuing education certificates, etc.)

Your tasks:

Scientific research on (intellectual property) legal issues in the establishment and use of shared data spaces.
Lectures on topics related to intellectual property law

 

Our expectations:

Above-average state examination in law, if possible with distinction
Ability to work in a team and organizational skills
Knowledge of intellectual property law (as evidenced by lectures, seminars or postgraduate qualifications).
