Volkswagen and European data management law/LDE

The second part of the additional training course Law of the Digital Economy (LDE) began today with a brilliant lecture. The speakers were Stefan Pinelli, Head of the Digital Law Department at the Group Legal Department of Volkswagen AG, and senior VW employees. They impressively described how European digital law is permanently changing the tasks of a legal department and what special work profile is therefore necessary in such a legal department. The insight into the individual production steps and the associated legal requirements, for example with regard to compliance or the protection of IP rights, was particularly fascinating. The speakers were then available to answer numerous questions from the more than 100 participants from over ten countries. The lecture also marks the start of the second part of LDE, which typically ends with a closing essay after further lectures on the DSA, DMA, Data Act, AI Regulation and cyber security laws.
