At the invitation of the Association for the Promotion of the Civil Law Department of the Institute for Information, Telecommunications and Media Law, the general meeting of the Association and an alumni meeting took place on 16.11.2019 in the premises of the Institute.
After a round of introductions, Institute Director Prof. Dr. Thomas Hoeren gave an overview of current developments in the civil law department of the ITM. This was followed by presentations by Dr. Martin Hecheltjen on his work at the Federal Office for Information Security and by Dr. André Moor, legal advisor of the EMU, who spoke about current legal issues in the academic world. The law student Luisa Neldner gave the participants an impression of the work in the project “Courtroom of the Future”, which was initiated by the ITM in cooperation with the Münster School of Architecture. Jan Kalbhenn, managing director of ITM, gave an insight into his research in the field of public media law.
Over a lunch snack, the alumni exchanged views with each other and with the current staff of the Institute.
During the afternoon programme the participants devoted themselves to the fine arts. During a visit to the art collection of the LVM, works from various art genres could be admired. Last but not least, the alumni enjoyed a brilliant view over Münster from the glass bridge of the “Crystal”.
The day ended with coffee and cake, and current experiences and anecdotes about the time at the ITM were exchanged. Some of the participants are said to have been spotted in the old town of Münster early Sunday morning.
The alumni meeting takes place every year in November. You can find more information about the Friends of the ITM here.
