LDE certificate award ceremony at ITM

On September 26, 2025, the Institute for Information, Telecommunications and Media Law (ITM) hosted the ceremonial awarding of certificates as part of the “Law of the Digital Economy” (LDE ) program. Around 50 guests – including graduates, lecturers and international guests – took part in the event.

The LDE program is a fully online certificate program that deals with the basics of European intellectual property, media and data protection law. The aim is to offer students from international partner universities a flexible and location-independent opportunity to deal intensively with the legal framework and challenges of the digital economy. This international focus creates an interdisciplinary exchange that opens up a view beyond national legal systems.

After successfully completing their exams, the graduates received their certificates in a festive setting. Following the presentation, a champagne reception provided an opportunity for personal exchange and to make new contacts in a convivial atmosphere.

A particular highlight of the evening was the specialist lecture by Georgian guest researcher Sergi Jorbenadze, who spoke about current developments in the field of Georgian AI law. This not only addressed a highly topical subject, but also highlighted the international and future-oriented perspective of the LDE program.

The “Law of the Digital Economy” certificate is therefore not only an academic qualification, but also a springboard for an in-depth examination of the legal implications of digitalization in Europe and beyond. Graduates acquire practical knowledge that makes them applicable both in their international studies and in their later professional life.
