General information
The ITM currently cooperates with 12 European universities, most of which offer outstanding media law courses and are therefore of particular (but not exclusive) interest to students specializing in ITM. In consultation with the Examination Office and in case of doubt with Prof. Hoeren (contact person: Philip Mayer), examinations can be credited to the major as an elective or basic subject, provided that equivalent courses are offered abroad in the respective semester (depending on the individual case). When allocating places, preference is given to law students over other subjects and students who wish to stay abroad for 2 semesters over those who only wish to stay for 1 semester (although a stay of 1 semester is perfectly possible at all universities, see below).
An application is only possible within the framework of the central procedures of the Study Information Center. The deadlines must be observed.
As a rule, the following documents must be submitted:
1. the cover sheet with details of your desired universities and the desired period
2. cover letter with a letter of motivation that refers to each request
3. tabular curriculum vitae with photo
4. simple copy of the school leaving certificate
5. certificate of previous academic achievements (WiLMa printout)
6. language certificates/language certificates confirming your knowledge of the respective language of instruction at your desired universities
Further information on the formalities of the application can be found on the pages of the International Office and the Faculty. A language certificate of at least B1 level in the respective language of instruction is required. Some partner universities have different requirements (see overview below). If courses are offered in different languages, proof in one of the languages is sufficient (apart from explicit exceptions).

- Aalborg University (Ålborg), Denmark
2×6 places – Courses in Danish and English – There are special language qualification requirements for Aalborg! If no proof of knowledge of Danish is provided, the B2 level in English must either be explicitly stated on a school-leaving certificate translated into English or one of the language tests listed on the homepage of the partner university(http://www.en.aau.dk/education/apply/guest-exchange) must be presented. If none of the requirements are met, an application that demonstrates B2 level in another way can still be successful; a corresponding test must then be taken in good time. Applications that meet the formal requirements will of course be given preference.
Aalborg is located in the north of Jutland and is the fourth largest city in Denmark. A large research network on IP law also occasionally offers seminars on this area, which is well suited to the ITM focus area. - Linköping University
2×12/4×6 places – Business Law degree program with courses in English and Swedish, language level depending on courses (see catalog link below), but at least B1; Linköping is located in the southeast of Sweden in the province of Östergötlands län.
