FAIR Data Spaces

The FAIR Data Spaces project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, stands for the connection of the already initiated data infrastructures NFDI and Gaia-X. The aim of the project is to create a shared cloud-based data space in which science and industry can exchange data. As the name suggests, the FAIR conditions are adhered to. The abbreviation “FAIR” stands for findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable. In a regular exchange with computer scientists and ethicists, the existing intellectual property framework conditions for the project are examined. In addition, the contracts to be concluded are reviewed, specific sample contracts are drawn up and liability issues are clarified.
